Company - From EDI to HOT Screen
EDI was founded in 1996 by Manfred Schmolz, PhD, as a contract research and development lab certified according to EN ISO 13485. Manfred Schmolz developed complex Co-Culture systems (HOT Co-Culture ) and invented the TruCulture System.
In September 2007 EDI merged with Rules-Based Medicine, USA.
In July 2014 EDI GmbH became HOT Screen GmbH, due to a Management Buy-Out from Myriad-RBM.
HOT Screen offers contract research in the field of immunopharmacology, immunotoxicology and cell biology, but also contract development, as well as the validation of customized cell culture systems and immunoassays of all kinds.
HOT Screen services are offered to pharma, biotec, cosmetic, chemical, food supplement companies and medical device manufactures. Our cellular test systems can be designed for use in pharmacological, toxicological or biocompatibility investigations.
HOT Screen provides more than 20 years of experience with a wide spectrum of samples, for example homeopathic, complex herbal extracts, small molecules, biotech products, biologicals, probiotic bacteria, implantable materials etc.
